Hi! I'm Tanya! I'm passionate about helping people live intentional, purposeful, and meaningful lives. I have spent many years of my own life letting anxiety and fear get the best of me and learned how to shift the trajectory I was on, towards a more meaningful life, one where I'm committed to living out my desired life.
Motherhood has been an interesting journey for me as I have experienced the gifts, strengths, and challenges that come with being a parent. I struggled to find the balance between being a parent without losing my own sense of self. Which is an all too common struggle for parents. The transition into parenthood was an awakening in a sense, as I quickly learned that I needed to unlearn many of the unhealthy, not helpful, behaviours, thoughts, and relational patterns that I had learned from my family of origin (FOO). Much of the way we think, feel, and behave is rooted in our FOO, yet it is absolutely possible to change unwanted behaviours and to develop new ways of being that align with our own values and preferred version of ourselves. Engaging in the counselling process helped me gain clarity about my own needs and values, and the ways in which I was responding to societal and cultural expectations on "motherhood" with feelings of anxiety, guilt, and a sense of not being good enough. This experience contributed to my desire to help support other women, parents, and families on their journey into and throughout parenthood.
My personal experiences as a parent and professional work as a counsellor and a Doula, inform my practice. I have 25 years of experience living, growing, healing, and working in the perinatal health field.
It would be an honor and pleasure to help support you through the challenges you may be facing at this time.
